Seaf Hartley

Seaf Hartley graduated from the University of San Francisco School of Law, obtaining her J.D. and a Certificate in International and Comparative Law with Honors after attending the University of St. Andrews in the United Kingdom where she earned an undergraduate dual degree in International Relations and Social Anthropology. In law school, Ms. Hartley joined the International Human Rights Clinic and traveled to Geneva, Switzerland to speak at the 49th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council about the threats of digitally financed terrorism. She was also the Director of the Advanced Moot Court Program, Survey Editor of the Intellectual Property and Technology Law Journal, and Vice-President of the International Law Society. She was awarded the CALI Excellence of the Future Award for the course Blockchain Technology and the Law and Best Brief in the University of San Francisco School of Law Advocate of the Year Competition. Ms. Hartley has handled a wide range of matters, including bad faith insurance claims, personal injury cases, product liability, counterterrorism/cybersecurity, and Big Pharmaceutical opioid litigation. She has worked on cases in state court, federal court, and in international platforms such as the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court. Ms. Hartley is presently admitted to practice law in the State of California and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
